Bible: We have spent this quarter learning about the birth and life of Jesus and his disciples. Our memory verses have stressed that God has grace on us and how important it is that we accept this grace for our salvation.

Reading/Language: We have read stories on Nature’s Fury and Tall Tales. We are to work on and increase our knowledge on the parts of speech, and the mechanics of grammar.

Writing: We are using the writing process during our writer's workshop. We have written personal narratives and studied and written from different points of view.

Math: We worked on place values to the billions. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and estimating through the millions of whole numbers. We also reviewed place values of decimals.

Social Studies; We have been studying the Native American tribes from the different regions of the United States as well a keeping informed of current events. We are currently studying the democratic system in the U.S.

Science; We are learning about cells and how they are the building block for all things.

Upcoming: Our field trip will be Friday, December 5th. We will include literature circles in our reading program with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory being our first book so we can compare and contrast with the play.

AR will be included as a part of our reading grade, so please encourage your child to read, Cursive handwriting will be used more in classroom work.
